Dump truck hits overpass, blocks access to Missoula landfill
There was an abnormally long line of people looking to get into the Republic Services landfill in Missoula on Friday morning.
A dump truck headed up Coal Mine Road hit an I-90 overpass and became partially wedged under it.
Authorities had to shut down the road to access the situation, causing quite a backup for people trying to get to the landfill.
Coal Mine Road was completely blocked for a while -- meaning that nobody could get into, or out of the landfill.
Eventually, alternating traffic was allowed to pass by the scene on the narrow road.
Montana Department of Transportation construction engineer Bob Vosentells tells KPAX the bridge sustained no structural damage.
