MISSOULA — We told you several weeks ago that a free learning hub was in the works for the former Mount Jumbo Elementary School in East Missoula and on Monday that hub is ready to open.
The Missoula Family YMCA has partnered with Missoula County Public Schools to offer homework help, Wi-Fi and access to computers each weekday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for students in grades three through 12.
The goal is to help families whose children could use support doing homework or just need a space that is more conducive to learning. Free lunches will also be provided for students 18 years old and younger.
The program is free, and no preregistration is required. In addition to the Learning Hub at Mount Jumbo, the YMCA offers full-day enrichment care for students in grades K-through-six.
