MISSOULA — Chief Charlo Elementary School in Missoula is fundraising for new playgrounds.

It has plans to upgrade both playgrounds in the coming years to be more accessible for students, and the community. A new bank gave $15,000 to the school on Wednesday.

Stockman Bank opened its third Missoula location, complete with a ribbon cutting and check presentation. It's located at 3615 Brooks Street, has a drive-up, ATM, and customer parking garage.

Chief Charlo Elementary School Principal Vinny Giammona says the playground updates reinforce the schools values.

"Everything that we want for our families, and our students, and our communities. A safe place to collaborate, to engage, to be together, meet new friends, and be active," Giammona said.

"That's what we want to stress to our kids, the importance of being outside and playing and being active, and just having that community feel. That's what this support by Stockman Bank is allowing us," he added.

The bank was established in 1953, and employees 64 people in Missoula.
