MISSOULA — After years of construction, Hellgate High School's reconstruction is complete.

Students who have never attended a school not under construction can breathe a sigh of relief and school staff can now begin taking advantage of all the new amnesties like this new lecture space called Knight Hall

"So I'm not going to say it was great having the building unusable for essentially three years, but the benefit was that we could talk about how to best use the spaces for students so coming in this year we were able to just hit the ground running and it's been a really smooth start, Principal Judson Miller said.

A smooth start for a building with a ton of new educational opportunities.

"Throughout the building we can start with the technology aspect and the double classroom and we can come in here and do research -- then can go right out there and use the big tables to lay everything out. So, it really has made a huge impact on all students for all reasons and that's been pretty impressive," Miller told MTN News.

It's a huge impact that allows students to get back to learning.

"It's way better now this year. I mean we would have two fire drills every month I would say -- and then it would be loud. Teachers would have to stop teaching, so yeah, it's a great that we can finally get through a whole day all my class periods where I can actually learn without having to be interrupted every single day," student body president Wes Salonen said.
