The death of a female whose body found in the Milk River on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation is being investigated.
Law enforcement in Fort Belknap received a call from someone on Monday at 4:27 p.m. who said that there was a person in the Milk River, near the Fort Belknap Agency Dam.
Several agencies responded to the scene, including Fort Belknap law enforcement, Fort Belknap Fish & Game, Fort Belknap Volunteer Fire, Blaine County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI.
The emergency crews found the body on the ice.
The body was taken to the State Crime Lab in Billings, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the female.
