A woman was rescued after crashing her snowmobile in Gallatin County on Friday.
The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Just after noon, the 56-year old woman from Utah crashed about 12 miles southwest of West Yellowstone. She sustained back and abdominal injuries.
A member of her group traveled a few miles north on a trail to get cell phone service and called 911, and waited for the Gallatin County Search & Rescue Team to lead them to the injured woman.
Emergency responders reached the scene on snowmobiles with a specialized snow ambulance.
The woman was placed on a backboard, loaded into the snow ambulance, and taken off the trail system to a waiting ambulance from the Hebgen Basin Fire Department in West Yellowstone.
She was then taken to Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
