HELENA – A Helena farm equipment business says producers tell them this fall’s harvest is looking good.

Helena Farm Supply has worked with farmers in the Helena valley and surrounding communities for more than 70 years.

When MTN News spoke to them Monday, they said the wet spring and flooding made it difficult for some farmers to get into the field.

They also say the weather turned around and this year some farmers may get an extra harvest in. After 71 years in business, they are still just as busy as ever.

“It’s more than a job. It’s a lifestyle, and it’s a community, and we’re all in this together. So we’re very invested in our farmers. They’re our friends, they’re our neighbors, they’re people that we know, love and have grown up and old with over the years,” said Becky Helfert-Wedll, manager of Helena Farm Supply.

During the off-season, many farmers and companies like Helena Farm Supply are just as busy as harvest season. Winter gives farmers and farming companies time to gear up for the new season and take on bigger projects.
