BILLINGS- The pilot who died in the crash of an experimental gyrocopter Wednesday has been identified as Robert Larry Coons, 74 of Billings.
The Yellowstone County Coroner’s Office said Thursday that the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Coons did not appear to have a medical condition before the crash, according to the coroner’s office.
The crash remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
