GREAT FALLS – The first working service dog to graduate from Carroll College’s Anthrozoology program met its veteran Monday.

Service dog, Major, was introduced to his veteran, Fernando Terrones, in Great Falls.

Terrones is a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan and is two weeks away from graduating from Judge Greg Pinski’s Veterans Treatment Court.

He said having the service dog is a way he can continue his treatment and keep working to heal from his experiences.

“I figured it would at least be a good opportunity to continue with my treatment,” he said. “He likes me some more, he’ll be with me and help me recover.”
