BOZEMAN — Good deeds come in all shapes and sizes. They can be handcrafted, too.

That’s exactly what one anonymous person did at the Bozeman Public Library.

Without a word, someone left a handful of handmade scarves in the library’s lobby.

The only words left on tags, read, “I am not lost. I was handmade for you. If you’re cold and need me, please take me.”

Staff at the library say many without shelter from cold weather often find refuge inside the library -- and these scarves were intended for them.

“It’s extremely thoughtful and whoever that person is or persons, they understand that there are people here who could definitely use this kind of scarf, set of gloves, hat this time of year and we appreciate the fact that they are aware of our customers and that they want to do something about that," says Susan Gregory, Bozeman Public Library director.

And the need was clear — staff at the library say the scarves were gone in a matter of hours.
