BUTTE — Butte will soon be hosting the Innovate Montana Symposium – a major business forum that will bring experts from around the state and the country to the Mining City.
“We’re excited to bring all these people to town, fill the hotels, fill the restaurants and really showcase what our community has to offer,” said BLDC Director Joe Willauer.
The event, which runs from Oct. 14-16, will not only feature economic experts, but also local business owners who will share their stories of success. “And more than anything inspiration to help people follow that dream of starting their own business,” said Willauer.
Jon Wick, who owns 5518 Designs in Uptown with his wife, is one of the people who will tell his story about why he wanted to make his living here in Butte.
“We need more vibrant businesses, we need more vibrant events., we just need more vibrancy around town so people can fall in love with this place like we did,” said Wick.
For many of these local business owners, it’s more than just about making a living, it’s about making a living in town they care about, "I am this town, we are this town, I mean, that’s the bottom line,” said Wick.
The event will be held Clarion Inn Copper King Hotel & Convention Center on Harrison Avenue. People can register at the Innovate Montana Symposium web site .
