Butte's Shop with a Cop called off due to COVID-19 concerns

BUTTE — An annual Butte tradition is called off this year.

Shop with a Cop, a program that for the past 10 to 15 years has paired cops and firefighters with kids whose families could use some help, will not take place this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This message from BSB Law Enforcement Dept.:

"It is with a heavy heart that we must cancel our annual Shop with a Cop event. This event and all the joy that comes from it will be truly missed this year. Due to COVID, we felt it best to cancel and keep our community safe.

Shop with a Cop made monetary donations to both Toys for Tots and the Mining City Christmas program.

We look forward to next Christmas season where we can hopefully continue this tradition for the youth of our wonderful community.

Thank You to all."
