BUTTE — A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday for a new malt business located just south of Butte.
Montana Craft Malt cut the ribbon with help from Governor Steve Bullock for the opening of a plant that will process Montana grown malt and distribute it to craft beer brewers from around the country.
The plant has been preparing to open for more than a year.
“This is a very important time for us, this week actually, is when we finally pivot from construction into operations. It's been a long time coming, the team couldn't be more excited -- and I could not be more proud of what we've accomplished,” said Montana Craft Malt President Jennifer O’Brien.
The facility currently has seven employees and hopes to have 15 within the year.
