GREAT FALLS — Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to a fire at an apartment building on Tuesday evening.
The fire was reported at about 5 p.m. at a six-plex building near Second Avenue South and 9th Street.
There have been no injuries; several pets were rescued from the building.
The fire re-ignited several times throughout the evening, and traffic was diverted for a while.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The American Red Cross is also at the scene to assist residents.

Great Falls Fire Rescue released the following information on Wednesday morning:
A 4-alarm fire occurred last night in an apartment building located at 118 9th St S. The fire caused significant damage to the apartment building; no other structures suffered any damage to because of the fire.
The fire was difficult to control because of various types of building construction, but Great Falls Fire Rescue crews were able to get the fire under control and keep the fire from spreading.
All occupants of the apartment building were safe and accounted for. The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants with lodging and other essential necessities. Great Falls Fire Rescue was able to rescue three cats from the apartment building.
At this time the cause of the fire is under investigation, information will be released as soon as the investigation is complete.
