Food Truck Frenzy helps students in need

As the first Food Truck Frenzy kicked off in Great Falls on Thursday, attendees were able to get some grub and give some goods to students in need.

The Great Falls Association of Realtors hosted the "Stand Up For Students" event and collected essential items and monetary donations to help at-risk youth in the community,

Food vendors also donated a portion of their proceeds to the Great Falls Public Schools Foundation to help students in need with school supplies this year.

Event organizer Marie Willson explained why she thought this event would draw in donors.

“We can always rely on our community to help make things better. And as you can see, there's a ton of people out here supporting these food trucks and the food trucks who are supporting us, who are supporting the kids, so we thought we would make it more of a, more of an event,” Willson said.

Willson hopes to raise more than last year’s total of $11,000.

If you missed Thursday's event but would still like to donate, the Great Falls Association of Realtors will continue collecting essential items through August.

Essential items include but are not limited to the following: new & unopened toiletry items, clothing, jackets, socks, gift cards, and bus passes.
