Crews are making progress on the Bear Creek fire near Dillon. As of Saturday morning the fire is 50 percent contained.
The fire is now at just over 9,000 acres. Active fire behavior is expected today in the Bear Creek drainage. This was the most active area of the fire yesterday.
Today crews improved multiple fuel breaks, and continued to hold the line. Visibility was also a factor for aerial operations today, but yesterday crews were able to successfully complete an aerial burnout with a helicopter.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect in the area until 9 p.m. tonight- due to the dry, windy conditions.
