On Friday morning, rescuers assisted a woman who became injured while snowmobiling on the Big Sky trail system, according to a Gallatin County press release.

The release said Gallatin County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue in West Yellowstone and Hebgen Basin Fire Department responded around 11:00 a.m. on Friday. A 22-year-old woman from Uruguay crashed her snowmobile on the trail system about 14 miles north of West Yellowstone. She reportedly "missed a corner, went down an embankment, and crashed into a group of trees."

The woman sustained a back and hip injury and was transported off the trails by emergency responders in a specialized snow ambulance. She was then transported by ambulance to Big Sky Medical Center for further evaluation.

No further information about the woman's current condition or extent of injuries was available. We will update this story if we get more details.
