(UPDATE, JUNE 16) The Flathead County Sheriff's Office says the collision involved a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck.
Following the collision, both vehicles caught fire.
The driver of the semi-truck was able to escape from the vehicle and was treated at the scene before being taken by emergency medical services for further care.
The driver of the passenger vehicle died at the scene; the body was taken to the Montana State Medical Examiner's Office in Missoula, where an autopsy will be conducted.
The name of the person who died has not yet been released.
The Flathead County Coroner's Office and the Montana Highway Patrol continue to investigate.

(1st REPORT) The Montana Department of Transportation reports that part of US Highway 2 is closed due to a collision in Flathead County.
The road closure is at mile marker 104 along US Highway 2 between Kila and Marion.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the closure is due to a vehicle collision that happened at about 12:15 p.m. on Monday.
There is no word at this point on whether anyone has been seriously injured.
