DARBY – Darby resident Jim Mann, 65, has gone missing and his family is asking for any information on where he might be.

Mann is originally from California and keeps in good contact with friends and relatives. When that contact ended, sometime between late July and early August, those closest to him reported him missing.

He drives a white 1994 Chevy Blazer with a black hood and is believed to be with his black lab, Dana.

Mann is an outdoorsman who likes hiking and hunting in spots such as Lake Como and Painted Rocks State Park.

His family says they are afraid that something might have happened to him while he was exploring Montana’s wilderness.

“He camps, he goes out all the time hiking. His Facebook page is just filled with pictures,” said Mann’s niece, Angela. “He goes out hiking a lot and I guess what our biggest fear is he’s out hiking and something medically happened to him or he fell down a ravine and hurt his leg, or something like that , you know, that he’s just stranded out somewhere.”

A missing person’s report has been filed with the Darby Police, and Town Marshall Larry Rose said they are currently trying to locate where Mann’s last bank transaction took place.

If you have any information you can contact Darby Police at 406-381-5790.
