FLORENCE – Florence Carlton School officials say they moved some elementary students to other parts of the campus due to concerns about the roof of one of the elementary school buildings.

Florence school authorities stated in a social media post that due to the recent heavy snowfall, they are erring on the side of caution and have moved the K2 students and staff to another building on campus. Professionals are assessing the situation.

Officials say if parents need to drop off or pickup up their K-2 students, they need to go to the High School office. Parents are also being asked to bring their driver’s license or government ID.

Access to the primary building is not possible Monday, according to school officials.

Additionally, school officials sent out a message to parents on Monday morning that they are experiencing some issues with their phone system.

Some calls are being dropped so parents are being asked to follow up any missed phone calls by sending an email to the student’s child’s school building secretary.
