High school students in Hamilton started last week, and kindergarten through fourth grade went back on Tuesday.
Hamilton High School is also starting some new initiatives this year-like advising sessions aimed to help students deal with problems.
Principal Ryan Wells says kids are excited to be back. Last Friday, 200 students spent the afternoon coordinating volunteer efforts around town.
"What's really cool is the students really appreciate the opportunity to give back, and get out in the community, Wells said.
"I think they see how much our community does for us, and this is a small way for us to take two hours our of our time to give back to them, and let them know how much we appreciate their support," he added.
The event finished off with a back to sports scrimmage. Wells told MTN News that the athletes are excited to play in the new stadium this year.
