HAMILTON — Ravalli County Commissioner Chris Hoffman celebrated his retirement in Hamilton on Thursday after spending decades in local law enforcement and four years in office.
Hoffman served as a sheriff’s deputy for years starting in 1989 before taking over the role of Ravalli County Sheriff in 2003.
MTN News spoke to Hoffman earlier in the COVID-19 pandemic about the mask controversy in Ravalli County, when he said enforcement capability is limited in the area, but that people should be respectful of others' decisions about their health.
During Thursday’s board meeting Hoffman swore in Dan Huls as an incoming Ravalli County Commissioner.
Hoffman told us he is grateful for his experience in Ravalli County and wants to continue to work with public safety in some capacity even in retirement.
