Ravalli County traveler tests positive for COVID-19

HAMILTON — Ravalli County officials reported a presumptive positive case of coronavirus on Thursday afternoon.

The County is waiting on confirmation from the Montana state laboratory in Helena.

The woman is a female in her 60's and was a recent arrival from travel to Montana.

Therefore, this will not be county as a Ravalli County case.

Local health officials say that the case has been isolated and household contacts are being tested and quarantined.

Ravalli County Public Health is also conducting interviews with identified contacts to determine risk of exposure and make recommendations.

"This is an ongoing investigation and we ask the community for their patience and understanding as we work to determine exposures," health officials said in a social media posy.

Local health officials are asking people to continue to wear masks, distance, wash hands and surfaces, and to avoid gathering in groups of more than 50 people in circumstances that do not allow for appropriate physical distancing.
