PLAINS – A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Montana Highway 200 in Sanders County on Wednesday evening.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. at mile marker 79.6, just south of Plains.
A 59-year-old Plains man was driving a Harley Davidson on Montana Highway 200 when he crossed the center line and struck a guardrail.
MHP reports the motorcycle continued west in the eastbound lanes for several hundred feet before diving into a ditch.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. According to MHP Dispatch, it’s believed the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspect and roads were dry at the time. The MHP is continuing to investigate the accident.
