RONAN – You might spot some large hay bales or the portable rock climbing wall if you’re heading through Ronan these days.

Ronan’s annual Harvest Festival hosts vendors and activities from climbing to jewelry as folks celebrate with food and revelry.

But there’s one booth that stuck out. A group is kickstarting what they call a Co-op Brewery, where every member owns a share of the product.

They recruited upwards of 300 members in their small community, and hope that the project brings new energy to Ronan’s downtown strip.

“When the steering committee assembled they did some public interest meetings, and one of the big things that was prioritized was downtown revitalization,” said Ronan Co-op Brewery treasurer James Myers.

“So, one of the parameters for the project was to do it on Main Street in Ronan. It’s been a bit of a challenge but it’s for the betterment of the community,” he added.

The Co-op Brewery would be the first of it’s kind here in Montana.
