POLSON — Authorities have recovered the body of a Ronan man who drown near Polson last weekend.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says the body of Dayton Conrad, 21, has been recovered from the Flathead River near Buffalo Bridge at around 11 p.m. on Thursday.

A friend of Dayton reported to Lake County 911 dispatchers on July 18 that Conrad had jumped from the Buffalo Cliffs, was unable to swim to shore, and was last seen being pulled under the surface of the water by the current. Initial search efforts were unsuccessful.
