Brennan's Wave surfers help rescue woman who jumped off Higgins Bridge

MISSOULA — On Thursday afternoon, surfers on Brennan's Wave helped pull a woman in distress to shore after she jumped off of the Higgins Avenue Bridge, according to eye witnesses.

Around 2:30 p.m. a witness to the scene says they saw a woman jump off the Higgins Bridge. According to the Missoula Fire Department, multiple surfers and kayakers helped the woman to shore under the Orange Street Bridge until first responders arrived.

The woman suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, but was transported to the ambulance on a gurney and then taken to S. Patrick's Hospital.
