PLAINS — Crews have made good progress fighting a wildfire in Sanders County.
The Henry Creek Fire, approximately five miles northeast of Plains, was mostly contained overnight, according to fire officials.
The Montana DNRC is in charge of the fire and up to 50 firefighters -- including the Lolo National Forest Hotshots -- are expected to be working on the fire on Wednesday.
The blaze is reported to be at least 20 acres with a more accurate mapping expected on Wednesday.
Fire managers note that although green-up has begun in the valleys, it is still dry out, and fires are spreading quickly.
