LIBBY — The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office reports a missing Eureka woman was found dead over the weekend.

Authorities received a report on April 6 that Darcy Nelson, 62, had left her home two days prior and had not been seen since.

An “Attempt to Locate” for Nelson was issued to law enforcement agencies across the state but they were not able to locate Nelson.

The Sheriff's Office received reports on April 11 that friends of Nelson had been told she was seen southeast of Eureka on Foothills road on April 10.

Friends searched the area before finding Nelson lying in the road hypothermic and unresponsive.

They called for emergency medical services, put Nelson into their vehicle and drove to Grave Creek Road where they met the Eureka ambulance.

Nelson was pronounced dead at that time.

The investigation is ongoing, but currently there is no evidence that suggests foul play.
