Missing Endangered Person Advisory issued for Polson man

POLSON — A Missing Endangered Person Advisory (MEPA) has been issued on behalf of the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Ben J Griffing, a 62-year-old white male, has been reported missing from Polson.

Griffing is described as being approximately 6’6” tall and weighing 165 pounds. He has blue eyes with brown and gray hair.

Griffing has a 1999 white Toyota Avalon with Montana personalized license plate "Giraffe".

Griffing was last seen on Jan. 18 in Polson leaving for a skiing and winter camping trip to the Pioneer Mountains near Dillon.

The MEPA states that Griffing also frequently camps and skis the Bitterroot Selway Mountains near Darby.

He was reported missing on Wednesday and there is concern for his welfare, according to the advisory.
