EVARO — On-top of Evaro hill there is a fireworks stand marked by a red barn.

Founded in 2014 Monty Lambert and his family have been selling fireworks for almost six years not including the years the family had a smaller stand in Deer Lodge Montana

“I remember years ago selling fireworks in a little stand up in Deer Lodge and doing it for the little sports groups and stuff like that and making a couple bucks, and we thought it would be fun and it is its great," said Lambert.

The Lambert's were concerned when they first heard about the coronavirus in March how it would affect their seasonal business.

“I thought it was going to be actually pretty slow you know people not wanting to get together," said Lambert.

But that was not the case.

“It seemed like it was as good as last year which is awesome, and it was on a Saturday which always helps, and you know it was good," said Lambert.

Lambert says he owns multiple businesses and the fireworks stand is his fun way of making income while his other businesses like Biosafe and Vacujet which are both environmental cleanup businesses, he also owns the Corner Bar in Deer Lodge.

But, Lambert says his teenagers have grown an interest in the family business of fireworks.

“They’re the reason why we got into it, and my two teenagers are now working down here and developing some habits such as like stocking shelves and taking care of a till, everything that makes a business work," said Lambert.

Overall Lambert says this year was successful.

“It's been a great year the weather cooperated, and the weather was nice and wet so it was good," said Lambert.

Lambert says if you are still looking to celebrate your Fourth of July weekend he will be open until Sunday afternoon.
