SUPERIOR — Joint Operation Mariposa is on its way across the state delivering hand sanitizer and personal protective equipment.

The veteran organization's founder David Williams said he and one other volunteer delivered 80 masks in Mineral County on Wednesday.

"We want to make sure they're protected because they are actually the ones keeping us safe," said Williams.

Their first stop was the Mineral County Sheriffs Office.

Deputy Alex Hughes said the outbreak is impacting much of our lives but his job hasn't changed.

"We're still here were still taking calls. If you need us we're going to show up," said Deputy Hughes

The same is true for the volunteer Superior ambulance where chairman Pat Metzer said they're treating every patient with extra care.

"The help were getting from operation Mariposa and Steel Toe is great. It helps us stay safe out here. So we can take care of our citizens."

Steel Toe Distillery near Bonner is making the hand sanitizer and the organization will pick up more later this week.

Joint Operation Mariposa made deliveries in Superior, Hot Springs, Plains, and Thompson Falls on Wednesday.
