SUPERIOR — Authorities have released the names of the two people who died in a weekend crash on Interstate 90 in Mineral County.

Mineral County Sheriff Mike Boone says that Amy Jo Bass and Matisen Rae Huntley died in the Saturday accident.

The Montana Highway Patrol previously told MTN News that the victims were from St. John's, Washington.

The crash -- which involved a semi truck and passenger car -- happened near the Fish Creek exit at around 6 p.m., according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

An infinitival MHP investigation shows that the driver of the passenger car was headed eastbound on I-90, crossed over the freeway, and then hit a westbound semi truck head-on.

A 4-year-old child in the passenger car and the semi truck driver were taken to a Missoula hospital following the accident.
