Rubber Duck Regatta helps seniors

It was a little fun at ZooMontana with the 23rd annual Rubber Duck Regatta, to raise money to help seniors.

Children and adults enjoyed a fun competition with the duck races on Sunday.

A carnival and entertainment added to the festivities.

"So we have something for everyone," said Val Young, event coordinator. "We have bingo but the kids can play with their grandmas. So it's just such a neat event to draw all the generations together."

The money raised goes to help Big Sky Senior Services' prevention of elder abuse program.

"The more you can educate the community of things to watch out for, the more you can talk to them about the scams that are going on," said Young.

Young says the Regatta has helped with awareness about elder abuse.

"Absolutely," she said. "You can tell that there's a difference."

This is the first year Big Sky Senior Services has held the Rubber Duck Regatta at ZooMontana.

In past years, it has been at Riverfront Park.
