MISSOULA — Wind gusts are calming this afternoon and evening.

Gusts around western Montana were clocking in around 50 MPH in valleys and close to 60-70 MPH over mountain peaks!

Calmer conditions arrive around 8-9 PM Wednesday night, and we will stay much calmer through the overnight hours.

After showers moved through the morning, we tracked a few bands of rain and snow in our are this afternoon. Under these bands, rain fell in valleys and snow fell across mountains.

As calmer conditions settle in, stable conditions move in, too.

What few clouds are out there this afternoon will, for the most part, move out by tonight.

A lot more stars will be visible tonight, and we will be able to see the sunrise much more clearly Thursday morning.

Besides a cloud or two passing by, tomorrow will be partly to mostly sunny, and calm conditions will be felt all across our area.

Highs tomorrow reach back into the upper 40s and low 50s.

Our next system will arrive Saturday and bring rain back to valleys and snow to higher elevations/ mountains.
