MISSOULA — The Aurora Borealis will be possible Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings this week.

A large amount of energy ejected from the sun Monday will interact with earths atmosphere tonight and possibly continue through Friday.

The Space Weather Prediction Center is forecasting a "Kp" level 7 storm. The aurora could extend to locations from the Pacific Northwest and northern Plains to the Great Lakes and New England region. Visibility on the horizon may even extend further south than this.

The Space Weather Prediction Center is predicting a G1 (minor) storm Wednesday night. Activity then could increase leading to the potential G3 (major) storm Thursday night and G2 (moderate) storm Friday night.

If skies can remain clear we may have some great opportunities to view the northern lights over the next few nights! As always, if you get a picture please share it with us!
