MISSOULA — Another hot day is expected across the northern Rockies Tuesday as highs reach the upper 80s to low 100s. Again the hottest temperatures will be found in the lower elevations along the Montana/Idaho border (Troy, Libby, Trout Creek).

Monsoon moisture is showing up on the radar this morning slowly moving into southwest Montana. A few isolated thunderstorms will be possible today for southeast Idaho and southwest Montana.

Most of the showers will be along and east of the Continental Divide. West of the divide areas around Salmon Idaho along with Darby and Sula Montana will have the best chance to see a few thunderstorms Tuesday.

Temperatures look to heat up even more Thursday and Friday of this week. There is even the chance that Missoula now could reach 100 degrees on both these days.

This heat will continue, although not quite as hot through the weekend with temperatures in the upper 80s to upper 90s.
