MISSOULA — Another hot day ahead of us here in western Montana. The hottest temperatures today will be found in northwest Montana where highs will range in the low 90s to low 100s near Troy, Trout Creek, Plains and Libby.
West-central and southwest Montana will see slightly cooler temperatures today, upper 80s to low 90s due to increasing clouds along with afternoon and evening thunderstorm chances. Northwest Montana may even see an isolated thunderstorm or two develop later in the day, however, chances increase the further south you go.
Very hot weather is expected Thursday and Friday as Heat Advisories have been issued for all of northwest Montana along with the Missoula and Bitterroot Valleys.
Temperatures will range from 95 to 110 degrees on both days. Again, the hottest temperatures will be found in the lower elevations along the Idaho/Montana border, Troy, Trout Creek, Plains and Libby.
Very hot temperatures will continue through the weekend with highs remaining in the 90s and 100s on both Saturday and Sunday.
By Tuesday of next week, some relief from the heat is expected as highs return to the 80s across western Montana.
