HELENA — Winter weather caused dangerous driving conditions Friday evening across Montana.

Two people were killed Friday on US Highway 12 between East Helena and Winston.

According to Montana Highway Patrol, two females in a westbound Buick lost control of their vehicle, due to speed and the current road conditions.

Their vehicle crossed the center lane of traffic, hitting an eastbound truck.

The driver of the truck was checked for minor injuries and released.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.

The crash delayed traffic on Highway 12, but troopers say the road is now clear.
