MISSOULA – The new look of C.S. Porter Middle School is finally set, with attention about to turn to actual construction after a couple of years of dreaming and design.
C.S. Porter is among the last phase of schools set for reconstruction under the sweeping “Smart Schools 2020” bond that was approved by voters three years ago.
The school, like the other Missoula middle schools, is bursting at the seams with an influx of students and needs new upgrades for security, and to match today’s learning models.
Architects from Paradigm presented the latest drawings to the school board last week, showing how the $4 million project will come together.
The designs show an all-new entryway with better security, better student drop off, new music rooms, added classrooms and a complete upgrade for the school’s heating and other systems.
Most of the construction will happen next year.
