MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) on Friday reported 32 additional COVID-19 cases.
There are currently 238 active cases in Missoula County and more than 1,000 close contacts are being monitored. Local public health officials are reporting 750 cumulative cases* to date in Missoula County, including six epi-linked cases.**
Health officials report that of the 238 active cases, 51% are within 20-to-29-year olds in Missoula County; and, 45% of all active cases are associated with known cases, while 30% are community-acquired.
There have been 509 recoveries and three COVID-19 related deaths to date. Additionally, 10 people are hospitalized in Missoula County due to COVID-19 including five county residents.
Friday's numbers show there are now 100 cumulative COVID-19 cases reported from the University of Montana since Aug. 12, 2020. There are 76 active cases.
Missoula became the first major city in Montana to require the wearing of face coverings on July 9.
