The first shipment of theModerna COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Tribal Health in the Mission Valley on Tuesday.
Pharmacy Division Director Dr. Jessi Cahoon received the first dose while Sam Buffalo gave a blessing.
Because the initial supply is very limited, the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is directing the first doses to certain health care personnel, as well as residents and patients in long-term care facilities.
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is following CDC recommendations and will give the first shipments of the vaccine to these populations first in our state.
COVID-19 vaccines are currently not being offered to the general public.
