Missoula County confirms 90 new COVID-19 cases

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) is reporting that 90 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Wednesday update.

The number of active COVID-19 cases has now risen from 257 on Wednesday to 312.

Four of the newly confirmed cases as well as seven of the active COVID-19 cases being reported are associated with the University of Montana.

A total of 6,694 COVID-19 cases has been confirmed in Missoula County including 6,325 recoveries and 57 COVID-19 related deaths.

The number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations has dropped from 26 on Wednesday to 22. The total includes 11 county residents.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has risen from 33 on Wednesday to 39.

The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

Community Medical Center and St. Patrick Hospital began COVID-19 vaccine immunizations on Dec. 17.

MCCHD announced on Dec. 4 that the drive-thru COVID-19 testing center located on Flynn Lane is accepting weekend appointments.

The Missoula City-County Board of Health updated the local COVID-19 restrictions on Nov. 19.

Missoula County residents can call 406-258-INFO weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 information.
