MISSOULA — Local health officials are reporting 58 active COVID-19 cases in Missoula County as of Monday morning and the cumulative case total has risen to 123.

There have been 120 confirmed cases* to date as well as three epi-linked cases** to date, according to the Missoula City-County Health Department.

Monday's numbers show an addition of several new COVID-19 cases.

A total of 64 recoveries have been recorded as well as one COVID-19 related death. There are now 58 active cases in the county.

The health department has paused Sentinel Testing for asymptomatic individuals due to the recent surge in positive cases.

Local health officials say they expect to move forward with some kind of mask-wearing mandate, following a Thursday public meeting.

*the Missoula City-County Health Department may be alerted to additional cases before the Montana Department of Health and Human Services.

** Cases that are “epi-linked” developed symptoms while in quarantine after being identified as close contacts to cases that tested positive.
