LIBBY — The Lincoln County Health Department reports that following a state review of records, three additional COVID-19 related deaths are being reported.

The Office of Vital Statistics reviews all death certificates and alerts the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services of any deaths caused by a communicable disease that were not reported.

Lincoln County health officials report that following the most recent search three additional COVID-related deaths from November and December were confirmed.

“There are many reasons that we may have missed these. For example, a lab could have been missed by us or not sent by the facility taking the lab. Another way is that the individual was lost to follow-up or, in other words, we were unable to get a hold of them or their family,” a social media post from the Lincoln County Health Department states.

To date, there have been 1,424 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Lincoln County including 1,358 recoveries and 12 deaths. A total of 54 active cases were reported on Thursday.

The State of Montana COVID-19 tracking map shows that 1,126 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Lincoln County. A total of 176 residents are fully vaccinated.
