MISSOULA – A University of Montana student is facing multiple charges, accused of repeatedly beating a woman and threatening her with a gun and knife.
Prosecutors are accusing Rexford Allen Robinson, 24, of assault, tampering with a witness and assaulting a woman with weapons last week.
Authorities say UM Police began developing the case after learning the victim had been assaulted by her boyfriend.
They subsequently learned that while the woman initially denied there had been any violence, they later discovered Robinson had been assaulting her repeatedly over several nights.
That included punching her in the face, beating her with a belt, and ordering her to sign a handwritten “document” denying she’d been attacked.
Prosecutors say Robinson even cut her with a knife, and at point put a gun in her face saying “I own you now.”
Robinson is being held on $100,000 bail and is due to appear in court on October 24.
