MISSOULA — A shooting in Missoula on Tuesday evening caused a large police presence to swarm a section of downtown.
The Missoula Police Department was called to the area near Ryman Street just after 7 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The scene was not secure, which meant that Missoula Emergency Services could not enter the area.
The gunshot victim was taken to the hospital by officers.
MPD then worked to secure the area, which included issuing a shelter-in-place advisory for Ryman Street and West Broadway.
A gun was later recovered at the scene. The shelter-in-place advisory has since been lifted.
Officers are still working to find the people involved in the shooting.

A section of downtown Missoula is under a shelter-in-place order in place Tuesday evening.
The Missoula Police Department issued a shelter-in-place for two blocks around Ryman Street and West Broadway just after 7:30 p.m.
The section of Ryman Street near Bodega Bar and The Badlander is shut down.
Details are limited, but several law enforcement vehicles are on scene from MPD and the Missoula County Sheriff's Office.
