Wildland fire burns 2 acres in Missoula's Grant Creek area

We have an update on a wildland fire that broke out Monday afternoon in the Grant Creek area of Missoula.

The Missoula Fire Department was called out at 3:38 p.m. after a fire was reported near Grant Creek Road and Stonebridge Road in Missoula.

Crews arrived to find that around two acres of what MFD said were "native grasses" burning along a ridge. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control.

An MFD investigator is still working to determine what sparked the wildland fire.

The City of Missoula Fire Department is responding to a wildland fire in the Grant Creek area.

According to a social media post, the fire is burning along a hiking trail.
