The last few weeks we've focused on hikes that are quick and easy options just outside of Missoula.

For those looking to get out and explore a little farther, but not too far away, the Bass Creek Trail outside of Florence offers another fun option to get lost just down the road in the Bitterroot.

If traveling from Missoula, hikers will go about four miles past Florence on Highway 93 before turning right on Bass Creek Road. Follow the road for a couple of miles and you'll find a sign that says the trailhead is about a half a mile away, and continue until you reach that point.

Bass Creek Trail has a steady incline and beautiful views of the creek along the trail. Once you've gone almost three miles, a fork in the road appears. You can continue straight or go right for some more great views and you'll eventually reach a smaller waterfall. Hikers along the trail mentioned that about a mile past the waterfall there were some more great views of some sprouting wildflowers as well.

The incline does get slightly steeper on the way up to the waterfall so take it easy if necessary. Check out the video above for more visuals that the Bass Creek Trail has to offer.
