MISSOULA – A couple of days after a federal judge re-instated Threatened Species Protection for grizzlies in the Yellowstone region, Montana wildlife managers are continuing their planning for taking over grizzly bear management in Northwest Montana.

Montana FWP representatives will be at the downtown Missoula Holiday Inn Wednesday night to take comments on the proposed regulations which would establish a framework for maintaining grizzly bear populations on the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem.

However, the Yellowstone ruling has raised questions about whether the federal government can lift those protections.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A final meeting will be held at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell Thursday night.
